
TAN Holds First Networking Reception
January 9, 2000 We held our first networking
reception. It was hosted by Mr. James V. Kimsey, Founding
CEO & Chairman Emeritus, America Online, Inc., at The
City Club, Washington, DC. Our first congregation of
Angels donated a carload of designer women’s suits and business
clothing to The Carpenter’s Shelter in Alexandria.The shelter

was held at Congressional Country Club. Sudhakar Shenoy, the
lively and entertaining CEO & Chairman of IMC, Inc. hosted
this most successful event that filled Cindy Brent’s car with
designer men’s suits and professional clothing that again
was donated to The Carpenter’s Shelter. [back

March 30th, 2000 Marks the TAN Day
March 30, 2000 We became The Angels Network,
Inc. We want to thank Walton & Adams of McLean for doing
a big portion of the legal services on our incorporation and

TAN Develops Organizational Road Map
May 5-8, 2000 Berkley Springs, West Virginia
will never be the same after The Angels Network founders spent
May 5-8, 2000 at the Coolfont Spa “working” hard to lay the
foundation and develop a road map for our organization. Officers
are: President, Judi Nardella; Vice President, Cindy Brent,
Secretary, Kathy Woodward; Treasurer, Jill Lubore and Directors:
Adrienne Albers, Cathy Lange, Jodi Robison, Jill Lubore, Cindy
Brent, Kathy Woodward and Judi Nardella. At Coolfont we decided
to focus our energies on developing a college-age mentoring
program, community outreach in areas of abused children, senior
citizens and local schools and developing partnerships with

TAN Billboard at eCiti Café
Look for The Angels Network billboard at the exciting, new
restaurant eCiti Café, on Tyco Road in Tysons Corner. Many
thanks are extended to Suzanne Jakobowski who donated her
time and talents to create a splendid graphics design and
Stephen Thomas who donated the space. Adrienne, Jill and Jodi,
along with their spouses are investors in eCiti and we wish

Base Technologies Inc. Offers to Develop
Website and Provide Hosting Services
Gary Nakamoto, of Base Technologies, has graciously offered
to host our website, www.theangelsnetwork.org,
pro bono. Thank you Gary and Kash (who is going to be our
guide and consultant!) Look for the site creation at the end
of September. Gary will also be the host of our November reception.

The Angels Network May 2000 Reception
at the Tower Club
May 2000 We want to extend deep appreciation
to Jim Lamb and Jeff Lubore for graciously hosting our May
reception at The Tower Club and to Virginia State Attorney
General Mark Earley for joining us as guest host. Mark shared
his experiences with us as a mentor in a program he created

NXNetwork Donates Five Thousand Dollars
Steve Francesco, Chairman and CEO of NXNetworks gave a most
generous gift of $5,000 to The Angels Network. This donation
will enable us to begin our college mentorship program, host
our spring fishing trip for homeless shelter children and
to pay off some of our start-up debt. Steve now holds the
honor of TAN “Heavenly Body” designation, and we can’t thank
him enough! Also deserving of our thanks and gratitude is
his lovely and one of our own Angels, Phyliss Salimbene. [back

TAN Officially Becomes 501(C)(3)
June 2000TAN officially became a 501(C)(3)
public charity which gives us a federal tax exempt status.

The Angels Network July Reception
at eCiti Café
July 2000 eCiti Café was the venue for our July reception
hosted by Jim Speros, President and COO of Sideware Corporation.
Youth athletic equipment was the charitable theme and our
Angels came through in a big way! It took two cars to carry
the stuff away. Kathy Woodward gave the donations to two different
Fairfax County organizations to help needy kids. As a result,
she received calls from all over the county from sports organizations

Wine Tasting Fundraising Event
October 13, 2000 Jill Lubore and Jodi Robison have
put together a much needed fundraising event for TAN. It will
feature a wine tasting presented by the Wine Tasting Institute
and a silent auction with all sorts of groovy stuff! The event
will be held at Jodi’s beautiful home in Great Falls. Chef
Jacque of Chez Francois has offered to be on hand and to serve
some of his wonderful creations to compliment the wines.

subcommittee on development. Mary Lou brings an enormous amount

Chair Subcommittee on Website Development
Gail Flannigan of Gail Flannigan and Associates has also
accepted our invitation to chair the subcommittee on website
development. Gail has extensive background in PR, communications
and media production. We are fortunate to have her counsel.

Gary Nakamoto of Base Technologies
Hosts November Reception
November, 2000 Gary Nakamoto, of Base Technologies,
was our host for our bi-monthly reception, held at Sam & Harry’s,
the Angels came together bearing donations for Westgate Elementary
School. The theme was technology- focused so Angels brought
hardware (a Macintosh server, no less!), software, tech supplies
and cash to help give the school a much-needed boost to its

Frank McDermott Volunteers to Become General Counsel
Hunton & Williams senior partner, Frank McDermott, has
volunteered to become TAN general counsel on a pro bono basis.Frank
is a friend and mentor to TAN board and will provide much
needed counsel as we move forward.
